CAD Automation Engineer

Position Job Title: CAD Automation Engineer

 Location: Remote 

Job Type: Contract 

Duration: 3-6 months

 Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities

• Develop automated validation tools for SolidWorks models and assemblies using C# and SolidWorks API
• Create macros/scripts to enforce company design standards and SOPs (feature naming, sketch validation, custom properties)
• Build DFM rule checking system for manufacturing constraints (hole sizes, wall thickness, bend radii, clearances, etc.)
• Integrate validation tools with PDM workflow to enforce compliance before design review
• Document code and provide training materials for engineering team usage

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in C#/.NET development
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and COM interop
• Ability to read technical documentation and understand mechanical design concepts
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Self-directed with ability to work independently in remote environment

Preferred Skills (Optional)

• SolidWorks API experience (VBA, C#, or Python)
• PDM API knowledge
• Mechanical engineering or manufacturing background
• Experience with geometric algorithms or 3D modeling concepts
• Familiarity with CAD systems (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, etc.)
