About Us

Siddique Ice & Cold Storage operates an ammonia-based refrigeration plant in Islamabad, Pakistan. We specialize in cold storage, block ice manufacturing, and in-house engineering services. Our team supports a diverse set of industrial operations, combining reliability with innovation.

Position

• Location: Islamabad, Pakistan (on-site at our plant)
• Job Type: Standby retainer / on-call (contract)
• Schedule: As-needed. Not full-time or part-time. Most months require few or no visits; emergencies require attendance within an agreed response time.

Key Responsibilities

• Rack, cable, and physically install or replace servers and network hardware
• BIOS/firmware updates, disk and PSU swaps, OEM hardware diagnostics
• Physical firewall, switch, and router work: installation, replacement, console access, cable tracing
• Console-level recovery of virtualization hosts when remote access is down (boot issues, network reconfiguration at the physical console)
• Windows software installs and desktop/workstation support at the office
• UPS and power equipment checks, including battery replacement
• Offsite backup media handling and rotation
• Acting as "smart hands" for a remote operator: following precise instructions over phone or chat, taking photos, connecting console cables, power-cycling specified equipment
• Occasional assistance with restore tests and hardware-side verification checks

Requirements

• Experience with rack-mount servers and structured cabling
• Familiarity with console/serial access on network appliances
• Familiarity with Proxmox VE
• Based in Islamabad or Rawalpindi, and able to reach our plant within an agreed response time
• 3+ years of hands-on IT support and network hardware experience
• Comfortable taking precise direction remotely and reporting back accurately
• Able to work independently on-site without supervision

Compensation

• Monthly standby retainer, plus a per-visit call-out fee
• Rates negotiable based on experience
• Most months require few or no visits; the retainer covers availability, the call-out fee covers actual attendance

Work Arrangement

• On-site at our Islamabad plant and office, as required
• Work is typically remote-directed, guided step by step over phone or chat
• No fixed hours or daily attendance; you are called in when physical work is needed
